I have a new patient who has it quite badly on one foot. I was going to use a cream and thought about foot baths too. She is on a very strong steroid cream at present and is still gettin break outs so I need something really effective.Any ideas would be great.ThanksSally ( MNIMH)To: ukherbal-list From: @...Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2012 00:01:47 +0100Subject: Re: distance learning course Hello Katharine, My understanding about your email is that someone has asked you about a distance learning herbal course May I draw your attention to a 3 year + distance herbal healing course, set up recently by Frances , UHRP, administered by her from the Althea Herbal Healing Garden, on her land in Devon. I don’t know what level you want such a course to go to, but here is a non-university course that is of a reasonably high level and has 4 registered herbalists as teachers, keeping to URHP (United Register of Herbal Practitioners) standards of entry for Western Herbal Medicine. Recently, Frances tells me her course will work to fulfil criteria laid out in a recent mapping document from the URHP for applicants wishing to become herbalists from non-EHTPA accredited training institutions. The course involves some weekend seminar sessions each year held in a classroom at the garden, but is mainly distance learning, and is in a modular format so you can pay as you go with the modules. This course is strong if you are interested in relying on your own medicines made from plants in your locality, what has become called called earth based herbal medicine - You can scroll down her website to find brief details about this course, but you will have to mail her from the contact section of the website to get a more detailed prospectus: http://www.greenlaneherbs.co.uk/courses.html Good luck with your enquiries, W Neumann (MNIMH) I'm wondering if there's a good distance learning herbal course, following an enquiry. thanks for all ideas, Katharine

Guest guest
Hello Sally,Is it pompholyx or pustular? I usually advise clients to use my Hemp and Olive cream for pompholyx. However in the past where there has been infection I have added large amounts of essential oils to a cream base to use. This works quite well as the E oils are antiseptic. However caution overuse and applying E oils neat to skin can cause pain/thickening of skin. However works treat on infected eczema and makes your client smell nice! What oils to choose is up to you.Lorraine Lorraine Hodgkinson AHG MRCHMHERBS AND HELPERS6, Butts Fold, Cockermouth,Cumbria, CA13 9HY. Guest guest
Hi SallyIt often runs alongside athlete's foot. Guest guest
Hey Sally, Have you tried trimovate? Only joking. Agree with treating athletes foot or other underlying tinea infections. Had good results with calendula base with melaleuca, lavendula & mentha (for the itch) oils. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Sally My husband had this really badly in his hand a few years ago. We tried everything I could think of - hand soaks with every antiseptic/antifungal herb in the cupboard, internal mixes of increasing strength and nastiness - the lot! The thing which finally persuaded it to go away was propolis. I had a propolis spray which I'd picked up at the NIMH conference - he sprayed it on his hand a few times a day and the infection cleared up and things started to improve. I have to say though that he lost all the skin on his palm and fingers - it peeled off in great sheets, and new shiny skin grew beneath it. It took about 2 years for the skin on his palm to look normal again and he had no fingerprints on that hand for quite a while. Good luck Alison > > > Hi all, > Has anyone got any good ideas for topical applications to treat pompholyx/ pustular eczema. I have a new patient who has it quite badly on one foot. Guest guest
Hi Sally,Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but it can also be caused by an allergy to nickel - the nickel can be in contact with a different part of the body - jewellery, metal studs on jeans etc. To: ukherbal-list Sent: Wednesday, 25 July 2012, 22:57 Subject: RE: Re: pompholyx Thanks for all the replies, they have helped me alot!
