Hi Joy, Thanks again for sharing and for your honesty -- I know you have been through a lot. It is a very frustrating disease but you seem to have a good attitude towards it. I especially like (and agree with) the quote that you have written underneath your signature line. Just curious, what treatment did your doctors give you when they first diagnosed you with bronch? Just abx for exacerbations? Zithromax is the brand name for azithromycin. It is a macrolide antibiotic that my doctor prescribed to me largely in part for its anti-inflammatory effects. You may want to search the internet for more information about it. Perhaps the following link may give you some helpful information regarding it: http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/cgi/content/full/292/1/156 Even though it's purportedly a more limited spectrum antibiotic, Zithromax does seem to be helping me -- perhaps because of its anti-inflammatory effects. You may want to ask your doctor if it would be helpful in your situation. Have you also tried pulmonary hygiene? I've used the Acapella and the Vest and the Acapella seems to help more in bringing the sputum up. Anyways, I hope either of these might help you. Take care, Cassie
