Guest guest
Dear Craig That is so good to hear a success story. How long has the Uni of Western Cape been running a course for Phytotherapy? Would be great to understand how the regulation work there and how the herbal practitioners are finding it? Phytotherapy is a statutorily recognised and regulated profession in SA. Phytotherapists are trained as primary-contact physicians through a double baccalaureate programme at the University of the Western Cape. We are planning out first annual conference in Cape Town in September this year and would always like to hear from our colleagues in other parts of the world. Guest guest
HiAnd is there the same opposition to alternative medicine that there is in the UK.UEL here has just dropped their acupuncture and their herbal medicine courses, University of Lincoln has moved their courses out to the college of further education, other courses are under continuing pressure, a cancer conference in Totnes was targeted by the anti-alternative medicine movement and then cancelled by Trading Standards. As herbs are now restricted and presumably fewer herbalists will be produced, are we seeing the end of herbal medicine in the UK? All that fuss to regulate fewer and fewer peopleRegardsDr GascoigneMedical doctor, acupuncturist, herbalistClinics in Bath & Tetbury, UKTel: +44 (0) 79 88 05 92 01Also, Bandon, Co.
