Guest guest
Has anyone else had a query from a student studying a Master's degree at Burnel Uni in medical anthropology. She wants to observe a consult and interview me about my practice, see below; "I am interested in studying different health systems among societies. Particularly, my interest is focused in British herbalism and the relation it has with the government and orthodox medicine. Therefore, my master project has as aim the definition of “herbalism” and “herbalist” by those who make use of this healing system. Both concepts can be used not only to cluster British herbalism; also it would be beneficial to ensure it professionalism. As a result, both government and orthodox medicine will understand the bases of this alternative practice." Dore
Guest guest
Yes I did. I said no. I didn't even consider there might have been an ulterior and more sinister motive, but now I wonder, and am glad I said no.Frances Frances E MBHMA, MNIMHMedical Herbalistwww.holisticherbal.co.uk020 8948 2140 (h)07855 783255 (mob) To: ukherbal-list Sent: Monday, 21 May 2012, 9:14 Subject: Query from Brunel Student Has anyone else had a query from a student studying a Master's degree at Burnel Uni in medical anthropology. Guest guest
I haven't been contacted by this person but i was under the impression that only other medical professionals (including nurses ) and herbal students could sit in at consultations and then only with the patients permission.Regards To: ukherbal-list Sent: Monday, 21 May 2012, 9:14 Subject: Query from Brunel Student Has anyone else had a query from a student studying a Master's degree at Burnel Uni in medical anthropology. Guest guest
Yes I knew about patient consent but I wasn't aware of restrictions on who could sit in - I wonder does anyone know how to check this?  Query from Brunel Student  Has anyone else had a query from a student studying a Master's degree at Burnel Uni in medical anthropology. She wants to observe a consult and interview me about my practice, see below;  "I am interested in studying different health systems among societies. Guest guest
I originally trained with IRCH (now with URHP ) and it was a ruling that was quite strictly adhered to and have always assumed that it applied to all herbalists. Maybe it was just them. Have to say that it does seem very sensible to me.
