Guest guest
, that is such a sad story. But just know that AS or NS, that could happen to anyone. It is particularly painful to those like yourself who took so long to put your heart on the line, only to see her swept away by a bad, bad person. I know a couple of NT folks that has happened to as well. Like everything else, there is the element of self blame, even though there is nothing, nothing you could have done. Something in the victim's history makes them " easy pickings " for con artists, often it's in their family of origin history, something in their self esteem, and later, their pride, when they realize they've been had. You can't help them because they won't tell you what's happening to them in a timely manner, because they don't want you to know because they know what it looks like to you and everyone else, and they are trying to suspend their own disbelief for a time. Through the lens of time we come to learn it wasn't our own inadequacy or neglect, it's just what was. - Helen
