Guest guest
Hi Shobana, I try to be flexible with follow up times depending on the condition e.g. if I'm treating hormonal things related to cycle then there is no point in follow-up in less than 4 weeks as changes won't be evident. Also being in a rural area some people have a long way to travel to see me so for long term chronic conditions e.g. arthritis I would probably leave a longer gap between follow-ups, especially after the first one but telling the client (in writing) that if they experience any problems or major changes in health to contact me sooner. I always try to diary the first follow-up appointment at the end of the first visit, telling the client they can always phone/email to change it if necessary - so that the onus is on them to cancel rather than to make appointment (people are invariably lazy in this regard, I am myself!). I guess my average follow-up period is about 4 weeks but tailored to the individual (we are holistic after all). a
