adding glycerine to tinctures

dear all

I was wondering what proportion of glycerine added to ordinary tinctures is a

good amount.I was wanting to improve the taste of tinctures for a child but dont

have a stock of them in glycerite form but I do have some vegetable glycerine

I add 10%. Niamh

By the way, is it true that adding glycerine to prescriptions with alkaloids

and tannins keeps them from binding? If so, should there be a protocol for

what goes in first?
