The challenge of travel

I'm home from a conference tonight. Travel is always a challenge (they

sure don't make it easy to eat right). I did manage to find a gym near

enough to the conference hotel to get my workouts in, though it cost

an extra $5 a day. Doesn't sound like much, but when I'm already

paying a gym membership at home and I'm dealing with a firefighters

salary... it adds up quickly.

Food was the challenge. I had enough Myoplex and AdvantEDGE bars to

get me through the travel, but it just isn't possible to pack all of

the meals for the trip. I did my best, and did fairly well, but I

still feel like I should have done better.

Progress, not perfection. Right?

I have a week-long trip to New Mexico next month, and then 3 days at a

conference in Augusta, Georgia in March. I need to get this travel

thing figured out.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Tristen, I am 100% travel for my work and managed to lose 85lbs now. I

travel not just in the USA but all over the world.

It was very easy to plan things. I always go to hotels with a gym.

It's also very easy to find healthy restaurants. I use subway a lot when I

travel around the USA ... Boston Market ..., they have healthy salads and

low fat meals..... I also screen the internet to see what kind of

restaurants are around the hotel or grocery store. If I can't find a decent

hotel I try a motel that has a fridge and a microwave. It's not as hard as

people would think.

Good luck!!!
