Having just had nettlerash from eating uncooked fish, it seems the connection with digestion and burning skin rash is not unusual.I have used Molkosan, a whey product from Dr Vogel, topically and internally, which seems to work well.Otherwise, heartsease and burdock and red clover also are helping.Have not seen it just below the knee, but that can be related to circulation problems.Food sensitivities are not detected by GP's, but gluten free seems advisable.best wishes, Marilena. Hello, This query has just been emailed to me and it looks a bit puzzling - possibly a blood sugar problem?. I will reply for more info but I was just wondering if anyone has come across this before?

"I would appreciate if you will use your expertise to advice me on

how to manage my pain.

I have for sometimes now developed a burning sensation on my legs.

It starts from below my knee right to my feet. It is worst at night

and whenever I am sleeping. I have been to my Gp and all possible tests have

been conducted on me with no abnormalities found.

The second condition is my

bowels. I hardly go to the toilet. In fact, for me to empty my

bowel, I must take laxative and sometimes even the laxative does not help". Thanks. Hannah

I've often seen chronic constipation and other bowel problems present with burning in the lower legs. I've always thought it to be due to an inflamed bowel causing irritation of the sacral nerve roots. Usually clearing the constipation helps the burning. eliminate any foods which commonly cause intolerance from the diet as well as prescribing aperient herbs.

If organic has been eliminated then sounds like a case of drawing out the damp heat accumulation in lower body. Had a similar patient, went in a fortnight (TCM stuff). I suppose working with lymphatics might be similar but consider the 'trapped' heat element. Has neuropathy been ruled out?Lorraine Lorraine Hodgkinson AHG MRCHMHERBS AND HELPERS6, Butts Fold, Cockermouth,Cumbria, CA13 9HY. As for the constipation I would need

more information from the case history. Is it a problem with dryness for example? Anne

Hi

I agree the constipation is the problem, but wonder whether there's another

mechanism going on as well. I read a book years ago about sugar (Sugar, Diabetes

and the Saccharine Disease, by Cleave & , 1966) which suggested that a

high refined carb diet can produce congestion in the lower bowel (nothing new

there but this was 1966!) which then causes pressure on the femoral arteries and

veins, producing symptoms of peripheral vascular congestion. Sacral nerve root

irritation also sounds entirely plausible - maybe a bit of both.

Hello Hannah,

I really appreciate reading the responses to this post; they make

a great deal of sense.

About the constipation - enemas or colonics may be necessary to

get the hard or impacted matter to clear before bowel function may

return to normal...

Let us know how this enquiry proceeds.

Blessings,

Benn

Thanks for your replies everyone. We're going to start by concentrating on the constipation, so we'll see how we go. Best wishes, Hannah To:
