Guest guest
Hi Christie. Isn't it a good feeling to have your symptoms finally recognized. I have 4 young children too. Mine are age 5,7,9 and 11. Good luck with you rMRI. Hopefully you can get some help with your symptoms. I take amantadine for fatigue and nuerontin for nerve pain. Both help me a great deal. Guest guest
Christie Welcome to the discussion group, sorry you have to meet us this way and hope you get to feeling a little better. When I was first hit with my MS in 99 I to had a pins and needles feeling on both of my legs. I was glad it finally went away after about 6 months. MS effects everyone differently some have a mild case of MS and can live a pretty normal life with a few complications. Are you on any of the MS drugs? I am on Copaxone I am also diabetic and take 2 insulin shots a day. I am taking my son to the bank this afternoon but here is some info about my MS on my personal MS web page. http://home.insightbb.com/~msdiabetes/aboutme.htm Also here is some useful information for you to make use of. http://home.insightbb.com/~msdiabetes/index.htm Disclaimer : MSersLife web page is linked into different Multiple Sclerosis sources for information about MS and do not claim responsibly for the information on the different MS web pages. Guest guest
Hi Christie! I haven't received a diagnosis....but I also suffer with these symptoms and have young children. I have had to change a lot of my ways of doing things with my boys.... I am a mother that didn't have the strength in her arms to hold her babies.....or walk my children to the park...but I don't dwell on this...I just find different ways of coping like sitting on a chair while I push them on a swing. The boys have seen me stuck in the bathtub, or crawling on the floor...but they don't get scared they try and help....and my 4 1/2 year old has been taught to go next door to the neighbours if Mommy can't talk on the phone, and thankfully my neighbour understands...because her sister has MS...so she knows to come running. So if you ever have an emotionally moment of not been able to do something with your children that others do....I understand those feelings and am here for you. Guest guest
Welcome :-) I'm Lori, 33 with 2 little boys aged 4 and 8 here in Ireland. Not on anything yet but my B12 shots. My dr told me Tues he thinks my symptoms are most likely ms and ruled out a bunch of other stuff. He said I'll be having weekly shots which I guess is Avonex. Guest guest
Good morning & welcome! I'm in the first week of my challenge too. This mornings cardio was rough. I always dread the cardio following my lower body workout days but I do it anyways and work through the discomfort. Does anyone else feel like they stick out at the gym? I almost feel embarassed by how red my face and body gets and how I break into a big sweat. Maybe it's just part of it or it's just me....It's definitely not going to stop me from working hard. Have a good day you guys! ~ > > Hi Everyone, > My name is and I am starting the BFL challenge today! Guest guest
, I used to dread cardio after lower body workouts - big time. One thing I found was the elliptical machine that has the handles. When the lower body is still aching, you can pull/push the handles and use a bit less legs. This keeps the heart rate up, allows you to hit your 10's, AND is easier on the legs. If you don't do that for your current cardio workout, I suggest you give it a shot. It works wonders for me. Don't feel bad about the whole 'red in the face' thing at the gym. The longer you go, the more you will see - A year from now, the people that aren't red in the face today usually end up looking exactly like they do today. If you get red (as do I), that is a good indication that you are pushing yourself. Strive to hit your 10's, and you'll see - people will come up to you and admire your progress. I get it all the time now! Stick with it and good luck to you. -pb > Good morning & welcome! I'm in the first week of my challenge > too. > > This mornings cardio was rough. Guest guest
: When I first starting going to the gym, I told the trainer there " now don't think I'm not working hard, I just don't really sweat " . Ok that must have just been because I wasn't really working hard! I sweat like nobody's business now and when I'm done with a good workout, my face is about the color of a tomato. I want to get in shape so bad, it overshadowed my embarassment. I think the trainers in the gym LOVE to see the people in there sweat, it shows you're working hard. So wear the sweat and red body with pride - you walk out and that is the tell tell sign that you've just had an awesome workout!! Dana Anne Re: New to the group Good morning & welcome!
