Guest guest
Glad to hear from you, and yeah, I'd said that he wouldn't deliberately try to harm anybody. I guess like most type twos I see at the clinic I go to, they sometimes feel that it's just a 'mild' bit of diabetes and they don't seem to understand that it can be just as serious as type1 re; complications and all. My neighbour across the street takes the glucophage and never watched her diet or anything, but when they made her take 15 u of NPH at night, she took it far more seriously and shed close to 60lbs (!). But then they siad 'Oh, you're cured, now', so she went back to her old ways and packed on 80lbs this year, and back on meds... Sam's a nice guy, and that's why I said what I said...even he didn't think he'd said that, but I have a 'deleted items' thingy I can check here and saw the letter, so I quoted it in the hopes that he could see why I took it the way I did. He was the first to actually send me a welcome and chat (privately) with me, so I'd not want to hurt him in anyway. He did have a good point about self advocacy as I've had my fair share of doctors who wanted me to just do as they said with no thought to my wishes, and if I said anything, I was " noncompliant " -don't you just love that word? Man, Hypo unawareness must be a bear to live with...I do check often and the pump helps too. as my dad is 88 and a wee man, I don't want to wind up low on him and he having to try to give me glucose....THAT would be a visual! <G> I'm glad you're here and will hopefully be in touch more...You can email me privately if you want, and that way I don't drive the list fruit with my long letters, which are sometimes off topic. I missed your bio or intro so I guess you can tell me where you're from, I'm in So. Cal.. You take care and remember the 30s and 40s had good music, but not good bgs@:-) S.
