Quite, Grahamand we don't help by accepting that difference! I suggest BFR Larch to the collective herbal research consciousness , with perhaps a little Holly and Willow for fine tuning..... individuals need to assess themselves on that... and reading Trisha Greenhaugh's description of the usefulness of case histories. - I think I've written here before urging us not to automatically accept the standard hierarchy of evidence. I have taught my students that we can, in theory, all create research by writing up case histories - It would be so nice to see practitioners already doing it and a central register of these (- some of the professional bodies are working on this, but I think it suffers from inertia and/or fragmentation currently.)- and if we are really keen, collating them into case series. c'mon guys, lets fill up the journals with the wonders of grass roots herbal research! Sally OwenWhen herbalists (or other "complementary" practitioners) talk about their experience of treating patients it's "anecdotal" but when medics do the same it's a "case study", go figure!CheersGraham White, B.Sc. Was it a jelly sweet with aspartame and a dash of Echinacea extract? A lot of unknowns here – but the info is “classified” what a load of bullshit!gabriel From: ukherbal-list [mailto:ukherbal-list ] On Behalf Of susan fidlerSent: 22 August 2012 21:46To: ukherbal-list Subject: Re: Re: MHRA advises Echinacea not be given to children under 12 Indubitably! And measuring rat gonad size is incredibly relevant to the health of the bairns we treat.....
