Could it be lupus? Some of the medications used for RA can induce lupus

autoantibodies. e.g. sulphalazine and TNF-alpha inhibitors can cause

autoantibodies, as well as causing an apparent flare-up of the RA (which is

actually lupus, overlaid onto the RA). Mtx hasn't so far been implicated in this

as far as I know, but one side effect is skin rashes. Would think it is

worthwhile getting it checked out if you think it might be lupus.
