Guest guest
Although I rarely post in here, I read everything and could really use some advice/wisdom from those more experienced than me! It is for my own baby which may cloud my view (that and the lack of sleep) but generally I am inexperienced in treating babies/children. My son is 10 weeks old and has severe wind and reflux. He was admitted to A & E at 4 weeks as he had episodes of choking, they prescribed ranitidine and domperidone, which I didnt give to him. He vomits a lot after almost every feed - was every one but improving, and in between has a lot of wind, which tends to be difficult to 'get out.' He still has occasional choking episodes which are bloody scary. I am drinking fennel tea and some chamomile, fully breast feeding, and giving him a probiotic. He is gaining weight and generally content but cries a lot as is obviously in pain. Much worse when lying down, hence I spend most of the time walking him around - he is unhappy unless being held and sleeps poorly at night. I gave up wheat and dairy, dairy has more of an impact. I keep him upright after feeding and have the moses basket propped up. Give him gripe water which temporarily helps with the wind. Sorry for the long post but feeling I can't see the wood for the trees , and would really appreciate any ideas? Many thanks, Kate.
