Guest guest
metallic taste and stuff: i get a metallic taste after exercise usually in the shower. a nurse practitioner told me it was because i was reusing my water bottle over and over again. and to basically use it once and throw it away--you know the designer waters that you get a the grocery store. anyway they recently came back. but it goes away right after the shower--so i think for myself it may have something to do with chlorine or something. but it is something to keep in mind. especially if you haven't been under good control for those bg's. now about the dreaded exercise. for myself--i must confess to not having checked my sugars recently--most especially after a tough workout. but i usually head straight for a slim fast bar as fast i can cause i'm hungry enough to eat the house!!!! exercise is great. it usually helps me to reduce stress--we all know what stress can do to our health in general. but i caution everyone--moderation and build up your strength, toning and conditioning. you don't expect a yearling horse to go out and run the kentucky derby without a lot of work...its the exact same thing here. that's why they wait til the spring of the horse's 3rd year to run the derby. build your foundation--build it slowly, wisely and with a lot of thought. as your body toughens--go ahead and toughen your workouts. you will be so amazed at what your body can do if you just give it a chance. and the best part of all of this. a long hot shower afterwards...a brand new person. one day at a time folks. margaret __________________________________________________
