Guest guest
Hi , I have no uterus and use only the Vivelle patch .075, and at times estrogel when I feel in need of it, and I have had this happen, recently as a matter of fact, even though I am now 57. At times I still feel as if I cycle through hormonally, even though I do not think I am ovulating. It seems though that from the moodiness, breast soreness, achiness, and then a week later complete clearing of these symptoms and no need for extra estrogen that I am still cycling on a three or four month timetable. I think the cycling goes on at a lesser rate, even without outright ovulation, and that each of us has a different threshold for FSH. I know when I was 50 I had an FSH done that the doctor interpreted as menopausal even though I KNEW when I ovulated and it was still fairly regular, plus my periods were like clockwork. So even with FSH, I think the only way to really interpret what is going on in the body is by symptoms, as none of us are 'set' to the same point. Wow, what run-on sentences above! I'm in a bit of a foggy phase. Hope you can understand the above! And good luck with your symptoms. Just wanted to say I've been there, and am still there, with the sore breasts and off and on racing heart, and I notice that for me at least, it's the P phase of whatever cycling that seems to cause both. Again, this is just ME, and I can't really advise on your situation, just wanted to chime in... Gael I rarely post these days but I have a question for those of you whoare experienced with BHRT.I'm 55 and haven't had a period in several months. I'm also using 1/8tsp Estrogel which seems to be the right amount for me. It's beenhelpful.I'm pretty sure I ovulated about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Since then, I'mstarting to feel worse. I've noticed an asthma-like thing going on inmy chest (no history of it other than I ended up in the ER withsimilar feeling and anxiety and racing heart a couple of months ago) and heart pounding and racing on and off.But my breasts are getting quite sore and I've not had this for acouple of years. Is it the Estrogel? Or is it the P from ovulatingand I need more Estrogel? Not sure if I need more Estrogel, or if I should stop it altogether. Any insight and advice is welcome. Guest guest
Gael, Thanks for replying so quickly. I was feeling panicky and anxious. You are the second person to tell me it's probably due to the P. I think that although my small dose of Estrogel was working well for awhile, it was not enough with the increased P from ovulating. So about an hour ago I decided to rub some E onto the thin skin of my forearm so it would work quickly. I also took 400 mg of mag. Within about 1/2 hour to 45 min, I started getting calmner, the palps lessened, and the asthma-like chest tightness went away. My breasts even seem less sore. So I do think it was not enough E to balance the P. Now I've got loose stools and stomach cramps from the mag :-D If it's not one thing, it's another with menopause. > > > Hi , I have no uterus and use only the Vivelle patch .075, and at times > estrogel when I feel in need of it, and I have had this happen, recently as > a matter of fact, even though I am now 57. Guest guest
Gael, I meant to ask--you said you cycled without a period, and I've heard others say the same. And that you think the P increases. Is it possible to ovulate and NOT have a period? Because isn't that where the P comes from? God help me if this misery I'm having since ovulation does not end with a period. > > > Hi , I have no uterus and use only the Vivelle patch .075, and at times > estrogel when I feel in need of it, and I have had this happen, recently as > a matter of fact, even though I am now 57.
