Guest guest
hi Debbie and group, I'm typing left handed--hunting and pecking along. i see the dr fri. to get more xrays and re-cast the hand. Steve is my 'right hand man' now. pain is minimal now that I'm in the cast, but YES i knew i did major damage when i broke it. just got a little poetry commission, and will post the finished poem when it's approved by the customer. our fridge died and we has to get a new one. best price was home depot...saved $233 over the same model at a so called discount appliance store. getting it delivered sat which is Steve's birthday and our wedding anniversary. have not used the compression stocking since i broke my hand--3 weeks ago. the en has not come back--over 3 yrs in remission now ;-) hope everyone is enjoying a painfree day. love, rebecca > > > Subject: good news! > To: erythema_nodosum_Group > Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 11:48 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > good news! i did not need any reduction or surgery as my fracture is radial and is stable --like a splintered chicken bone..hanging by a thread. the hairline one is also stable and essentially a non issue, i picked a basic black cast which will be removed for x rays in 2 weeks, and probably reapplied. in the cast room was a guy with the exact same fracture. he got it boxing--and this fracture is called 'the boxer' as that is how most of them occur. falling while vacuuming doesn't rate a name--except maybe clumsy. the hard cast leaves my thumb, index and middle fingers free--the swelling went down considerably and i am black and blue on the palm where the bone bled. i don't need a sling. the cast is made of fiberglass, so not that heavy. it goes 3/4 down my forearm. > > thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. they are working! > > love, > > >
Guest guest
thanks for that info. we used to call them knicker knobs, and i asked hubby about that. but to be honest i don't feel confident driving with my left hand. you should see my left handed signature--looks like a first grader. luckily i have hubby as my chauffeur and i will be able to rehab the grip as soon as the cast is removed for good. love, rebecca > > > > > > From: <rebeccastrecker@> > > > Subject: good news! > > > To: erythema_nodosum_Group > > > Date: Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 11:48 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > good news! i did not need any reduction or surgery as my fracture is radial and is stable --like a splintered chicken bone..hanging by a thread. the hairline one is also stable and essentially a non issue, i picked a basic black cast which will be removed for x rays in 2 weeks, and probably reapplied. in the cast room was a guy with the exact same fracture. he got it boxing--and this fracture is called 'the boxer' as that is how most of them occur. falling while vacuuming doesn't rate a name--except maybe clumsy. the hard cast leaves my thumb, index and middle fingers free--the swelling went down considerably and i am black and blue on the palm where the bone bled. i don't need a sling. the cast is made of fiberglass, so not that heavy. it goes 3/4 down my forearm. > > > > > > thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. they are working! > > > > > > love, > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I most certainly will tell Steve what you said. He made a stir fry and it was great! When he had the nervous breakdown in '08 I decided to help him put his mind on other things besides our financial losses I'd teach him to cook. I'm not that great a cook myself, but I taught him everything I knew. Now it is paying off ;-) I have not cooked anything since I broke the hand on 3/15. Remember " Beware the Ides of March " ? http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/beware-the-ides-of-march.html I should have paid attention to that one ;-) Love, > > > Subject: Re: Re: good news! > To: erythema_nodosum_Group > Date: Thursday, May 17, 2012, 6:03 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Yeah, 3 years!
