J,

Egg whites, lean beef, chicken breast, cottage cheese, & even lean pork products

are all good proteins.

A change in diet to a higher protein menu will produce a little more " gas " .

This will reduce in time.

Eating

Since I have gained weight over the past few years my stomach seems not

to tolerate certain foods. I noticed I can't take whey protien or soy.

Is there another protein I could use?? I am also experomenting with

what food combinations I can and cannot handle within BFL. Bottom

line......if I get the combo wrong don't stand behind me!!

Got up at 3:15am and did a run/walk for 25 minutes. I am going to

change running programs because the one I chosse was too aggressive for

me. I am going with the coach potato to 5K program.

Gee, I seem to have the opposite problem. When I didn't watch what I ate (this

is pre- " eating correctly " ) I could eat ANYTHING. Since I have been eating clean

for the past 4 years, I can't eat most of the crap I used to without some

digestive ramifications. Nothing really bad, just " offensive " ........if you

know what I mean. And, bottom line......I guess that is a good thing. Keeps

me on the straight and narrow. Speaking of which......it is my 40th HS class

reunion this weekend. Am doing a 50 carb/day thing this week because I wanna

look GOOD! Ok, you can all kick me now for the un-humble conceit I am

displaying.

For protein, try Egg Albumin or Casein. I personally prefer casein as

it is thicker and sticks with you longer than whey. The only

disadvantage is that it's slower digesting, so is not quite as quick

as whey (which is ideal directly after a workout).

If you are 'expelling' after eating clean, that is a natural reaction

your body has when changing your diet. When I say 'diet', I say it in

the strictest sense - your regular food intake. Usually, if you stick

with it, the 'gas will pass' :)
