Guest guest
We have a Respond Luminex Ultra Class IV laser on loan so I am reviewing how many Joules to deliver to specific treatment areas. For some reason (I am blaming pregnancy for everything these days) I am getting hung up on joint size and how to move the probe. I apologize for the simplicity of this question in advance, but could someone clarify a " small joint " versus a " large joint " ? So clearly large joint: coxofemoral. Small - like interphalangeal? tarsal? Elbow and stifle seem to fall somewhere in between. Also, the nson rep says this laser does not require continuous movement like the Companion I looked at. Says hold over treament area for 10 seconds and move probe is recommended. If I have a 40 second time frame to treat for a given number of joules desired and have to move every 10 seconds, do I need to go over each spot 4 times? (so that each part of the treatment are receives that number of joules) Or is it just total joules for treatment of that region? The probe is pretty large, so it covers most of my treamtent areas (elbow, stifle) almost completely. I think I am either way over or way under thinking this. Sorry - maybe I missed basic laser. Also slightly paranoid about hurting patients. Bridget
