Guest guest
have any of you seen those shows on the workplace where they've installed treadmills for phones and keyboards for those who can walk & work at the same time? i'm afraid i'm not that coordinated, i'd have a really hard time getting anything done. i have a little pedal/bicycle like trainer for under my desk, but i've put it in storage. i found it hard to type with my knees going up and down. but i did use it a few times while watching TV, only problem is it slides on the carpet. laurie > > > > > > Hey Laurie, welcome Tegan, what is the TNT walk? Did you find a good website? Thank you, and thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I think I'm going to like it here. TNT is Team in Training. A branch through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They sponcer walks all over, and the nice part is, is that they cover the travel expences and hotel. The only thing you have to do is train, raise the needed amount, and have money for your own food (and any souviners and stuff like that. They do cover 2 of the meals, but the rest is up to you. Oh, and after the initial registation fee of like $50.00, any other walks you do after that, the only thing you need (other than your food money), is the required amount raised. And it's set up so that 75% of the money you raise goes to the foundation. Only 25% goes towards your transportation and lodging. I was thinking of doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day, but not only do you have to provide your own transportation, but you have to walk 20 miles a day for 3 days plus sleep in tents for the two nights. I think I'll start off with a nice soft bed in a hotel. I don't think I could get up and down on the ground and still function after walking that far each day. I may do it the folling year once I get a marathon or two under my belt, but for just starting off... As far as the websites, I'm looking as we speak er write, read...? You all have a great night and thanks for all the info. Tegan > > Helping your favorite cause is as easy as instant messaging. You IM, we give.
