Guest guest
Hello all, I am in C1 W2 Day11. Everything has been going great so far!! I'm amazed at how " simple " this program is compared to everything else I've tried but I do have a few questions. I have been having some " issues " with constipation since starting a higher protein diet. I am still getting 30 plus grams of fiber a day, as well as drinking nearly a gallon of water a day but it does not seem to help. I actually had to see a doctor yesterday because of it and he told me that some people do not tolerate high protein diets very well. He told me that I should take digestive enzymes with each meal to help digest the proteins and maybe lay off the cottage cheese and dairy for awhile. He also said that because I just quit smoking a couple of weeks ago that may have something to do with it. He said some of his patients have severe issues after quitting smoking because their body relied on the nicotine to " stimulate " things in that area. Also. My first LBWO was awesome, unfortunately my abs still have not recovered over a week later. As a matter of fact I think I may have torn an ab muscle if that is possible. I have an area in my lower left abdomen that has continued to hurt like crazy whenever I do anything that uses the muscle in that area.(even turning over in bed is a challenge still) Even doing triceps extensions with my left arm in the air seems to make it twinge. Is it possible to tear an ab muscle and if so how long will it take it to heal?? Should I lay off of ab exercise until it does or continue with the workouts as scheduled?? Thanks so much in advance for any answers you may have. Blessings!! Cat Click Body4LifeHottie@... Fun Size Candybars DO NOT Make A Fun Size Butt! Guest guest
, I need to make clear that I am not any kind of medical professional, but it sounds to me like you probably sprained your ab muscle or simply over trained it. A tear would be more serious and seems less likely. When you tear something your likely to hear a pop and feel something move and afterward to have a temporary deformity in the muscle. Having detached my biceps muscle about 10 years ago, this is something I can state with experience. If you where at the Doc's did you ask him to check it out? If it is a sprain, just take to do exercises that don't stress it. Give it a chance to heal. If you can get to gym, use the machines to isolate other muscles that force you to brace your torso less. -- On Thu, Jul 10, 2008 at 3:22 PM, Click wrote: > Hello all, > > I am in C1 W2 Day11. > > Everything has been going great so far!! Guest guest
When I went to the doctor he did look at it and said that it didn't seem deformed in any way to him..he said I probably just pulled it and that it might be best to lay off of the crunches until it feels better. I just hope it doesn't take too long to heal because I don't want to miss too much of the abwork. I want my abs to look GOOD at the end of my challenge!! ;-) Click Body4LifeHottie@... Guest guest
Caffeine tends to stimulate things for me. Also, in addition to fiber make sure you are getting enough fat in your diet too. I think it does sound like you tore an ab muscle. I would lay off that area until it is healed. Back in late December I was having an issue where hurt my upper abs whenever I was breathing. I went to the doctor and even had a chest x-ray. It turned out that I probably just strained or pulled an upper ab muscle and eventually the pain went away. I've experience the pain in the lower abs turning over, but that was just from the lower abs being sore. Andy > > Hello all, > > I am in C1 W2 Day11. > > Everything has been going great so far!! Guest guest
I would put some olive oil in your oatmeal. That does the trick for me.
