Guest guest
Hi all. I haven't been participating or checking in on this group for quite a while, but it appears that my recent blood tests *may* show that I have mild hyperkalemia (too much potassium in the blood). I strongly suspect that this is a lab problem and not really an increase in my potassium levels, but I was wondering whether anybody in this group is familiar with it. Albuterol seems to be used as a treatment, at least in severe cases. (My doctor wants me to re-take the blood test again, and he seemed to want me to do it soon. So I guess this can be serious if I really have it.) I have mild bronchiectasis, mild asthma, mild fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. Enough already! At least most of my conditions are mild or adequately controlled, and I'm lucky to have a very supportive family. But I find I can get more from my doctors if I do some research for myself first so that I can ask intelligent questions. In any case, I would appreciate any info on hyperkalemia that anybody can share. Thanks in advance. R.M.
