The article is worthwhile as far as it goes. If you scroll all the way to the end of the comments, you'll see remarks added by Karla Fisher, a rather incredible middle level project manager at Intel who's actually gone to LA to assess what the employer is doing, rather than taking any journalist's word about his company. Her remarks are worth reading. Karla's a more than competent commentator on the kinds of practical expenses and extra work employers go through to set up workable employment environments, and given her lengthy employment at Intel, that really says a lot.

Incidentally, if setting up this kind of an employment environment is "so easy" as to merit exact equivalencies in compensation, one thing to keep in mind is how many software support and development firms actually go bust or crash long before they become really viable or visible in a hot market. Specialstern and the program out of Chicago have taken lots of work to support, and as one commentator indicates, the Danes are being subsidized to a considerable extent by the government. I don't believe that's the case with the Chicago operation, but there's a chance even that operation might be operating under some of the cover aspects of what the Jarvits-Wagner-O'Day act of 1971 as amended 2010 allows it to do.

As with all stories of this kind, it pays to get the business and actual life experience in the real market background on employers who get "positive splash feature coverage."
