Guest guest
Elaine, has complex heart disease and is post-Fontan repair. Before her repair at age 2 1/2 her normal sats were in the mid seventies. We used to put a large sign next to the pulsox machine when she was hospitalized that this was OK for her, as every new nurse of therapists that would go past her crib would gasp and crank the oxygen up to 100%. Her cardiologist said that the low sats were due to her anatomy and that until she was repaired, that's were they would stay. She was always a bit blue, but the low sats did not seem to bother her (or her cardiologist!) otherwise. Post surgery she has been in the high 90's. If the 70's is a sudden drop for Jack you might just want to touch base with his cardiologist. I hope Jack is recovering nicely from his kidney procedures. Good luck with your heart questions.
