Guest guest
Hi , I was wondering how many days did you take off from work after your surgery? I was thinking about having my TR in January but I would only be able to take 4 days off of work (that includes Saturday and Sunday). Just curious since I am trying to keep the whole thing a secret here at work so I wouldn't be able to stay out any longer. Thanks, P. (Florida) ivylee97 wrote: Thanks for the idea. I used to lay on the bed with a asprin on my forehead to hope my headaches (during my last pregnancy) would go away and if taping the abs tape works for you, honey, I'll add the buns of steel on my tushie as soon as I get home from work. I had my surgery on Dec 3rd, and I have returned to work quickly. I was afraid that maybe I was pushing it. It is nice to know that I am having a " normal " phase. Pleas keep in touch, I'll be the one with all the video tapes on her bod. Hugs/baby wishes.....

Guest guest
, Are you from the St. Louis area? You are going to one of the best hospitals in the U.S. but I guess you know that already! I am from St. Louis County and go to one of the physicians affiliated with the BJC ( Jewish) hospital group. I was diagnosed with bronc in 1992 but did not have any major problems with it until around 2002. I mainly wanted to write and wish you the best on your evaluation. Hang in there! I will be going to Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. What kinds of tests did they do on you? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! So now I face a 6month program of inhalation meds (5 diff ones every day) and pulm rehab program for 3 months. Drs want to see if my lung fcn will improve so that they can do surgery to remove 1/2 of each lung. THat's planned for this summer. At some point about 5 yrs ago (I'm 51) all orals stopped working. The Pseud A bacteria has taken over lungs and sinuses and with my last flare-up I was on Tobi for 6 wks - after surgery in Sept 07. I had a PICC line a few times - inserted in upper rt arm and threaded into heart for IV ABX. Had a couple of infections at the site but they cleared up. Meds were pumped in from a machine or from IV stand or as out-patient. Had it all different ways. I just stopped working middle of last year - been pretty active til then. Guess we just have to keep going....right? joy hensby <endiandraixa (DOT) net.au> wrote: Hi ,How long since dx? How long treated with abx, til came to the point where they don’t work? How long did Ciprox work b4 it became resistant to it too? I have been using since around 2003 (I think), and is the last one left as oral ab. I know the effect now is not as immediate or as good, but pathology results ‘say’ that the Ciprox is still working... Here’s crossing fingers and toes it will last . Always a dilemma, every time unwell, sit it out, see if will pick up without ab, or if I get it wrong get really sick and need to be on a longer dose? Drs – even specialists - just do not know. What is your experience with PICC line? Where is it inserted, any probs, any introduced infection such as Staph?Anyhow, I am thankful Ciprox IS still working for now, cheersJoy (from Oz)-- Sentient beings, all our very own mothers, are as limitless as space Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. I, too, have the same dilemma -- not knowing for sure when I'm infected! I wonder if this is a dilemma most bronch patients have? For example, my sputum volume, thickness and yellowness seems to be increasing again. Does this mean I have an infection? Like you, I'm not sure when to treat. You've had bronch for 30 years though. So are you only having this dilemma now or have you always had this dilemma? Has your bronch symptoms been stable throughout these 30 years or has your sputum production increased throughout the years every time you have an exacerbation? Hope you're doing okay, Cassie
