Guest guest
I appreciate all the posts that followed the back brace question. I have had a run on IVDD dogs and found the info very useful. I am curious to know who amongst you are putting post op back dogs in water before sutures/staples have been removed? What time frame do you aim for and what do you do to protect the incision?? I have a client who's primary vet hardly wants me to touch the dog before staple removal let alone try to put it in the UWT and risk infection. I know there are lots of rehabbers getting the dogs in water immediately post op without complications but wonder how they do it. Guest guest
We put our post-op IVDD dogs in the UWTM @ 7 days. All our surgeons agree that the incision is healed at this point. We have had no infections with this method. Veterinary Referrals Hospital of Hickory, RehabilitationAngie , RVT, CCRPFind us on Facebook!
