Guest guest
my twin son who's still in hospiatal has to have a bronchoscopy and 24 hr pH study done next week. I know from when his twin sister had the pH study done 2 years ago that its a horrible thing for a child - no sedation and very distressing for her. It showed negative anyway. i'm really reluctant to agree for my son to go through the same thing. (I've had an endoscopy without sedation so have some understanding of the process!)I've asked for it to be done at the same time as the bronchoscopy when he'll already be sedated but they can't do this as the ph study nurse has a different schedule. Can anyone please give me some urgent advice? D I hold out and ask them for a later date when it can be co-ordinated with the bronchoscopy? Am I wrong to refuse this explorative process? he's never complained of any reflux before.Thanks.
Guest guest
Hi Janice, I've had this PH test done and they put under with a mild Twilight Sleep (not sure medically what this is called). I didn't remember a thing. I forgot how old old your boy is but hospitals in general are scary traumatic events for children and some adults! I think you know based on knowing your child what you should do. Mother's instincts are tried and true. It would be difficult for me to say yay or nay not knowing your boy. I hope he is up and back home challenging mommy soon. ;~) ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) Nan 24 hr ph study for reflux my twin son who's still in hospiatal has to have a bronchoscopy and 24 hr pH study done next week.
