Guest guest
Hi Everybody,Its been a while since I have checked in but just came across a book I think most of you, especially the women will be interested in...it is about Helga Estby (and her daughter, Clara) the first women to be documented to walk across America in 1896 in just over seven months. It was an easy read with lots of tidbits abou life, beliefs, myths and atttuudes of that age. The title is: BOLD SPIRIT:HELGA ESTBY'S FORGOTTEN WALK ACROSS VICTORIAN AMERICA. I must say it has helped me focus for my upcmming walk and realize the importance of having people around me who support me, even though most think I am having a mid-life crisis (which I do not dispute). On a secondary note; does anybody remember how many (and brands of) shoes Steve or Long went through on their journies ?Janalee
