Guest guest
Hello All, I am coming along slowly but surely. I am not doing BFL all the way, but I am exercising more. About 3 days per week. I am not as consistent as I want to be, but, I have come a long way from not dong anything at all. As far as my question, is anyone taking any supplements or do you just eat clean and drink plenty of water. When I look at the Biggest Loser, the only thing they take that comes close to a supplement is gum. I just friended Ali on my myspace page. I was looking at her pictures and do you know what I heard as I was admiring her new figure? " It took her 4 months to get there " . That's is when the realization of getting to a new lifestyle is a process really hit me. Anyway, I am doing better now. I just need more dedication. Especially in the eating area. Guest guest
Most of us don't waste money on supplements as their isn't alot of research showing they have much effect in the long run and can be very expensive, let alone dangerous to your health. I would reccomend taking a multi-vitamin, along with a b-complex and vitamin E or fish oil caplets which are known to have uber benefits to your health. Geranium extract is becoming a little more popular and can be bought at most health food stores and has tons of good properties as well and can give a boost of energy. The chia seeds Andy mentioned is another more recent thing lots are doing since reading the book, Born to Run. Apparantly the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico have been using them for centuries and have amazing health. There are 2 ways to take them. You can buy the actual seeds and mix them with water and let sit for a half hour or so. It forms a gel like substance and will coat your stomach preventing fat from absorbing. It is a great anti-oxident as well as other benefits. Alot of long distance runners are learning the benefits of chia since it seems to last in your system a while. There is an online company called isupplements that sells a chia powder which is like a flour. You can mix it in drinks or add it stuff you cook. Some great advice I heard is that if you want to eat and be healthy, eat like the poor people. Corn tortillas, beans, veggies etc. Another word on the supplements, especially fat burners. If you spend all that money and they can be expensive you might lose an extra half pound over a 3 month period, but get to act like a crazy person on speed and be a nutcase that everyone hates so you can choose what you like, but you have my opinion. heh. Guest guest
I have not heard of Alli, but from what I just found when I looked for it, it doesn't sound like something to be considered lightly. Instead, I would recommend Chia seeds. You can use them to replace fat in recipes, they retain water so make you feel fuller, they slow the absorption of carbs which balances your blood sugar, lower cholesterol, provide antioxidants, and will keep your energy more balanced. There are a lot of natural things you could try rather than some of these expensive chemicals. I would invest the money it buying healthy food instead.
