The University of Florida has opened up a new faculty position in the Integrative Medicine Service which includes rehabilitation, acupuncture, nutrition and herbal medicine. Details are listed below. The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, University of Florida, is seeking applications for a clinical track faculty position for an Integrative Medicine Service that includes Acupuncture, Rehabilitation and Nutrition.The position is available at the Clinical Assistant Professor level with the salary being commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will work in the Integrative Therapy Service in a beautiful new 100,000 square foot Small Animal Hospital featuring new rehabilitation facilities. Interest in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy would be an asset. The position will have an approximately 80% clinical commitment. Teaching responsibilities will involve didactic and clinical training of professional veterinary students and house officers. Scholarly activity appropriate to the time assignment is expected. Minimum Requirements: Applicants should have a DVM or equivalent degree. Applicants should have advanced training in rehabilitation or willing to obtain this training. Applicants with advanced training in nutrition who are willing to obtain training in rehabilitation will also be considered. A criminal background check will be conducted. Preferred Qualifications: Diplomate status in American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is preferred, but board-eligible individuals or certified canine rehabilitation therapists (CCRT)/certified canine rehabilitation practitioners (CCRP) will be considered. Alternatively Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Nutrition is acceptable, but board-eligible individuals will be considered.
