Guest guest
I haven't looked too far down in this thread, but it looks like German is dominant in the latest posts. I'm 37.5% German, 12.5% French, 50% Polish/Russian (Adah, we might be related! Lol.). > > Has anyone taken a poll of demographics to see if this condition is focused on any particular biological heritage? > > I'm having a little fun with this, but still....for instance, maybe there was a viral outbreak hundreds of years ago in a certain part of the world, and we're all extended family... : ) > > My ancenstry is most German with Irish, English, Czech, and Cherokee. >

Guest guest
I am elated you asked this question Ron, as I was up late last night wondering how to gracefully ask this question and get responses. I have even started looking at last names wondering if there was a connection between Misophonia and northern European people, specifically Ireland, England and Scotland. I am Irish and Dutch German. Father's side has been in America since 1600's, but mother's side came from Ireland in early 1900's.
Guest guest
I'm Hungarian, fully (living in US now, but problem started when living in HU at age of 10). Nobody else in my family had it as far as I could tell, I was the jerk who disrespected my elders by making comments about how they slurped their soup. > > I am elated you asked this question Ron, as I was up late last night wondering how to gracefully ask this question and get responses. Guest guest
Russian/Polish, Jew. I'd also be interested in Education Level. Many, many posters here seem literate, curious about the world, and seem to value education. Or that could just be a function of who generally has internet access - the "digital divide" idea. Guest guest
Hi, I'm a newbie too. Just found this site after hearing the subject on the Today Show. I haven't read a lot here yet, but this question is very interesting. I have French, English, and Cherokee. I too have been wondering if we all have a common ground somewhere... I also have fibromyalgia, depression and HSP. Now I know I have misophonia. Mine started when I was about 7 or 8 yrs old. I am now 64 yrs old and it has NEVER stopped! Some things that drive me to the edge are barking dogs, car engines revving, loud, thumping music, people cracking their gum, eating, crunching, breathing, hearing a man jingle coins in his pocket or sometimes people will hold a couple of coins and clang them together while they are talking... crickets, birds, music on my grandchildren's toys... guess I could go on and on but I won't... I think you get the picture. It's horrible and it has stolen my life away from me. I am near total seclusion now and wear earplugs (that sometimes causes pain), ALWAYS have a fan running, headphones. Those things help save me. I'm so thankful for this website. I plan to read as many of the stories as I can. I hope I've put this in the right place... it's my first post. > > > > Has anyone taken a poll of demographics to see if this condition is focused on any particular biological heritage? > > > > I'm having a little fun with this, but still....for instance, maybe there was a viral outbreak hundreds of years ago in a certain part of the world, and we're all extended family... : ) > > > > My ancenstry is most German with Irish, English, Czech, and Cherokee. > > >
