Guest guest
I have an 8 year old, overweight yellow lab with pain on shoulder flexion/elbow extension and an increased abduction angle. He clinically has a weight-bearing lameness on the affected leg. I have recommended rest and did a laser treatment (goal 8j to target tissue) to the bicepts tendon origin in the shoulder. I am planning on seeing the dog back at the end of the week for a reevaluation and repeat of laser therapy. In addition I intend to prescribe mild stretches and begin a weight reduction protocol but I am not sure how long I should wait to start eccentric exercises such as downhill walking or step downs. Thoughts? This is my first one of these. a
