You could try a thundershirt although I have been told if the dog wears it long term the effect wears off, i.e. it is best when worn for short periods as during a storm.  I have had some limited success for anxiety with DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheremone), now called Adaptil, products (comes as a collar, spray or diffuser, in this case have the dog wear the collar all the time and put a diffuser over where he is most often lying in the house, if he is kept in a crate then spray the inside of the crate. I forget who makes this product but you can easily google it and it would be completely safe in his condition.
