Rehabilitation Technician - We are looking for a full or part time rehabilitation technician for our busy practice. TOPS is perhaps the premier provider of veterinary rehabilitation services, and our 100% dedicated rehabilitation clinic is fully equipped and houses 2 underwater treadmills, a land treadmill, exercise equipment, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, pulsed magnetic therapies, multiple lasers and more. We offer all levels of sports medicine and rehabilitation including client education, assistive devices, custom orthotics, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy for injuries, post surgeries, geriatrics, and athletes. In addition we also offer integrative medicine modalities, including acupuncture and chiropractic. Skills and Qualifications • Must hold a certification in canine rehabilitation by either the Canine Rehabilitation Institute or the North East Seminar program • Certification or licensure as a vet tech or multiple years of experience working as a veterinary technician before becoming certified in Rehabilitation • 1+ year(s) experience in Rehabilitation is a plus • A basic understanding of dog behavior and veterinary medical terminology • Confident in abilities to teach clients Massage and PROM • Confident in obtaining goniometry measurements • Excellent client relations and interpersonal skills • Strong observation and organizational skills • Ability to lift up to 40-50+ pounds • Self starter and team player • Strong desire for learning • Happy and outgoing Job Responsibilities • Performing duties using neuromuscular stimulation, UWTM, therapeutic ultrasound, laser, PEMF, aquatic biostimulation, and therapeutic exercises for our rehab patients and athletes • Maintaining an athletic program • Working with police dogs • Teaching clients Massage and PROM • Taking goniometric measurements at evaluations and rechecks • Care of boarders • Daily charting, charges, communication documentation • Contribute to the day-to-day maintenance of rehabilitation equipment and space, etc. • Giving input to improve the efficiency, quality of care, etc. in keeping with the Mission, Vision and Principles of TOPS. • Participate in marketing efforts (pet shows, etc.) We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including: medical/dental and paid vacation (for full-time employee), CE opportunities, a generous pet care discount and more!
