Guest guest
Myra  If you don't have the time to make your own ACV. I would suggest BRAGG ORGANIC Raw Unfiltered ACV. Most health food stores carry it. Think I pay about $6.00 for a 32 oz bottle.  If you live in a smaller town the regular grocery might have it. Solaray also has a raw ACV, but I preferre the Bragg  But you are correct most 'commercial' food brands have very little in the way of offering REAL food. . .Reading the labels is a start. Guest guest
Read the label once for Swanson chicken broth. Same problem. Have friends that raise chickens every other year. She buys chicken broth instead of making it. She doesn’t LIKE the homemade stuff. Guest guest
My favorite apple cider vinegar is Eden's, but Bragg's is good too. Just be sure to get one that's made naturally, is unpasteurized, and includes the " mother. " Here's Eden's description http://www.edenfoods.com/store/product_details.php?products_id=103500 Apple Cider Vinegar >To: " home dairy " <homedairygoats >, " district 8News " <district8News >, " Dist 7 " <dist7news >, " Raw dairy " <RawDairy >, " Illg " , " Lamancha Talk " <Lamanchatalk >, " West Coast Minis " <WestCoastMinis >, " Oberhasli Talk " <Oberhaslitalk >, " Production Dairy goats " <ProductionDairyGoats >, " Raw dairy " <RawDairy >, " MiniBreed Talk " <MiniBreed_GoatTalk >, " TMGR Talk " <TMGR_Talk > >Date: Sunday, July 22, 2012, 12:23 PM > > > > > > > > > >For those of you making cheese (or anything else) using Apple Cider Vinegar,.... I was shopping for ACV yesterday and in reading the label on the gallon size ACV made by Heinz.... the first ingrediant was distilled grains.  Another ingrediant was caramel coloring.  Doesn't sound like Apple Cider Vinegar to me! > > > >Myra Bamberger >Blue Unicorn Farm - LaManchas, Oberhasli, Recorded Grades, & Mini-LaManchas >Kelseyville, Ca >www.blueunicornfarm.com > > > > > > > >------------------------------------ > >PLEASE BE KIND AND TRIM YOUR POSTS WHEN REPLYING! >Visit our Raw Dairy Files for a wealth of information! >http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RawDairy/files/ > >Archive search: http://onibasu.com > >
Guest guest
FYi . . . Braggs ACV is available thru Vitacost and their prices are quite reasonable. They have a flat shipping rate of $5 if order is more than $49. Additionally, if you shop via ebates.com, you'll get an additional rebate. We've used ebates for over a decade and are very pleased with our experience. God bless,Doug & Sharon SharpShaDo FarmsP.O. Guest guest
The best stuff is raw and is usually to be found at any health food store. ACV from the supermarket is usually flavoured like ACV. Guest guest
How long do you leave it sit out on the counter to reach ACV? Debbie ChikouskyNarcisse, MBwww.chikouskyfarms.comAnyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins. 4:17 Re: Apple Cider Vinegar Myra, you can make your own apple cider vinegar. Do you have water kefir grains...My hard cider I make turns into apple cider vinegar when left on the counter to ferment a bit longer...I sometimes use it on my salads..And I share it with my goats... Get some water kefir grains first,I sell them if you'd like a starter jar..I'm in Ramona,CA..Jena can tell you where I'm at.. Then you can buy some 100% apple juice,I buy the Kirkland brand from Costco...You can enjoy the juice as it goes through the changes, from sparkling apple juice-hard cider-apple beer-to vinegar...My batch is at the apple beer stage,I don't really like that one,so I pour that into my storage container and start all over with a jug of apple juice and 1/4 cup of WKG cultured water...You can even make wine vinegar...I've tried using grape juice and when it gets to the hard juice stage it taste like a strong Merlot wine..a little too strong for everyday drinking..It's only suppose to be 1% alcohol.. at Lindy Haven Farm Ramona,CA
