Laser Protocols

Hi All,

I was hoping to get some input about using our laser to its maximum. I am a

stand alone rehab and pain management facility and I've been using our 850nm

LASER from the Chatanooga Group for the past 2 years for arthritis, post-op

cases and neuro cases. A local hospital 2 blocks from us has asked if we could

partner with them to provide laser therapy for their patients.

I've contacted the Chatanooga group to see if they have protocols for other

medical conditions that can be treated with laser – but they do not have

anything specific. I know laser is used for derm cases and I've heard it can be

beneficial for feline cystitis. Does anyone have any protocols out there that

they are using that you could share with me? For example, I've treated 1 lick

granuloma (present for years according to the owner!)– the patient was coming

twice weekly for therapy, so I did laser both days he came in for 4 weeks. The

lick granuloma was starting to resolve, then the patient stopped coming. How

long does it usually take for a lick granuloma to resolve? Is once weekly

appropriate? Any other conditions that respond nicely to laser that I might not

be aware of?

These are some of the questions I'm trying to answer so that I can suggest a

schedule to the general practice down the road for specific cases.

Please feel free to contact me off-group if that is easier!

Thanks for any and all input,

Tina
