Guest guest
I have a 4yr old dobie with partial calcaneal tendon rupture. The owners wish to pursue conservative management at this time. I have attached the U/S radiology report as a pdf in files. She was diagnosed with immune mediated thrombocytopenia and was being treated with prednisone prior to injury and is now on azothioprine only and maintaining platelet counts. She is an otherwise healthy and active dog. We have a custom orthosis, articulated but wedged, for her during recovery (or longterm if needed). My questions are: 1) What if any exercises/UWTM would you recommend without the orthosis? and at what stage? 2) When would you recommend starting to allow flexion of tarsus? (at what stage of recovery not necessarily time) 3) How long would you continue with rehab if you are not seeing improvement? any other input or suggestions are also welcome. I will also link a youtube video of her without brace Thanks, Rhea
