Guest guest
I leave my minerals out free choice. All is little tiny bits of sand like particles but it works. For feeders I use a few different things. Homemade PVC feeders. Pretty easy and cheap to make. Here is a link: http://swampyacresfarm.com/MineralFeeder.html I also use plastic baby pig feeders. All are mounted in the shelter areas so rain/snow keep out. I also have mineral blocks out, they are on stumps of old trees. Those are just the " regular " 50# blocks. I have white salt, a salt/mineral, and selenium blocks all out. I don't go thru many of those on a yearly basis, maybe replacing 3 times over the course of the year. I also use Brigade to bring up my calcium in the goat herd. That one I go thru about 50# in a month when they are lacking. The nice thing with that is when they are finished, you have a new feeder to use! Or make it into a planter. It does come in larger sizes but I can't move the huge drums of it myself.
