Guest guest
We have a FERNO underwater treadmill that was manufactured right before they sold off that portion of their operations. Since it was installed, we have had an ongoing problem with the heater and want to see if anyone has had a similar issue and, if so, what the solution was. The short version of the problem is this: every few months or so, one of the heaters overheats and melts down. We have had FERNO look at it, when they were still operating, and more recently had someone who is an independent contractor check things out. They have both said things were OK, only to have another heater fail afterwards. Has anyone come across a similar issue? The more detailed description of what is happening is as follows: We have a Coates 240V in-line heater. Inside the heater, there are (2) Coils (Siemens 45DG20AG772R) and the problem is always with the first coil which is fed power from the line in. (The 2nd coil is fed from the first one.) This coil tends to get hot enough to burn the wires connected to it and melt the label on top of the coil. The water pressure on the main filter registers anywhere from 7-10 psi. When the filter is cleaned, it tends to drop to about 7 or 8 and then as it gets dirty, moves up towards 10psi. There is a pressure switch that is supposed to cut off if there isn't water flowing but it appears that there is. If anyone has encountered a similar issue with this unit or anything similar, any advice is greatly appreciated. We have burned out 3 coils at this point. We replaced the entire heater a few months ago but another coil went again last week.
