Hopefully coming to the end of my first outbreak!

I have just been reading previous messages and have learnt more about EN from

these than from anything my dr was able to tell me.. I noticed the first lump

on my leg about two months ago but did not go to the dr until two more had

appeared. He did diagnose the condition immediately but sent me for blood tests

and X-rays to try to identify an underlying cause. So far nothing definite has

been identified. However the X-ray did show that my heart is enlarged and my

own research suggests this, combined with EN could suggest sarcoidosis. I would

be interested to know if anyone has similar problems. I have experienced

arrythmias forr the last few years but have been told they are 'nothing to be

too concerned about'.

I have had a number of EN lumps on both my legs and my left arm. I was unable

to put my left leg to the floor for a number of days so struggled, but can now

move ok. My lower legs and ankles are still swollen and a mixture of different

colours. My arm is now a patchwork of blues. At times it has been frightening

as I could almost watch the infection spreading. At 57 years old I have been

told I am old to have my first, and hopefully, my only outbreak of EN, but I see

from other posts that a number of people my age and older are affected.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this site for all the information. I look

forward to reading more.

Best wishes

Sue

Dear Sue, I really do not have any great insight for you. My 15 year old daughter has just recently recovered from her first EN experience. It lasted 3 months. No trigger was determined. She had many tests and bloodwork. Her trigger was not determined. She elevated her feet and took lots of Motrin. I hope your situation passes quickly. This support group was so helpful. I'm sure you will find a lot of information and support. Best of luck.
