Hi there !! My name is Cristina and I'm so happy to join you.

I'm 44 pounds overweight and am planning to finally start the

challenge next week :-)) It has taken me longer than I thought to

plan and be mentally ready.

When I look in the mirror I just see fat and discouragement, so any

encouraging words will be gratefully appreciated.

Very sincerely

Cristina (a.k.a. Stra)

Stra,

Good for you in getting started! I bet you'll do great. Try to keep your head

in the game. Simply this means let your head guide you, not your emotions,

friends or temptations. Many of us KNOW how to eat right and exercise, but

somehow LIFE just seems to get in the way. Remember you didn't put the weight

on overnight, so be patient. The best thing I can suggest is to know that

everyday you make the difference. You may not see it. The scale may not show

it. But everyday the small choices you make will have a big impact later.

I've tried the BFL program before and it can be very demanding. Plan ahead for

your meals and snacks so you don't get hungry and tempted with easy/bad foods.

Make sure you pick a time of day you can stick with. I can't wake up at 5am to

exercise, but I also can't so 9pm at night. Try to figure some of these things

out BEFORE you start so you have a success plan from the get go.

I don't know if you have done this type of program before, or if you belong to a

gym, however one last suggestion I have is IF you can do it. Go to a club and

get the fitness assessment. They should measure you, weigh you and tell you

where you are on the fitness scales based on your age group. I found this was

the best money I'd spent. Although you feel pathetic doing it, it's a great

true measure of where you started. After I finally felt good about myself and

wanted to cut back on the rigorous plan I went back to get my assessment

done...the results were AMAZING! Mind you my clothes did fit better. My weight

had gone down. But I had NO IDEA how much better I really was in overall

health. That really helped me to realize that this is a lifestyle change, not

just a program to follow.

So there's my 2 cents. I hope this motivates you to get started on the right

track. I sincerely hope that you find the book and program helpful. I refer

many people to read it, if nothing else to realize that a lifestyle change is

really what they are looking for - not just a diet.

S.

If you want something to change in your life, then YOU need to change something.
