Guest guest
To my friends, I have started a yahoo discussion group " TriggerPointVet " for the purpose of generating discussions concerning myofascial pain and trigger points in dogs and other veterinary patients. I invite you to join and participate in discussions by openly sharing clinical opinions, observations and experiences. It is not my purpose to compete with existing discussions groups but rather promote information, knowledge and discussion of a very overlooked area of pain and dysfunction. This list is a “member’s only” list formed with the purpose of discussing myofascial pain, myofascial trigger points, and other forms of myalgia in veterinary patients. The list is open to veterinarians and licensed and/or registered veterinary technicians. The list is also open to other healthcare providers with interest and experience in working with animals, to include; physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapy assistants, massage therapists, athletic trainers, etc. For other healthcare providers certification in veterinary rehabilitation is preferred but not required. Many of the current participants completed the recent Canine Trigger Point Seminar by Myopain Seminars at my offices in The Woodlands, TX. The next seminar will be held in October 2012. The list will not be moderated in that no one will preview or censor the posts. It is however essential and expected, that members, conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Differences of opinion and critical questioning are not only allowed, but, encouraged. All comments, suggestions, opinions, critical statements, etc., should be presented with professional respect and with the purpose of advancement and elevation of the understanding of myofascial pain and myofascial trigger points within the veterinary community. Discussions and posts within the group may not be offered to non-group members without the express permission of the member(s) offering the information. Failure to abide will result in immediate and permanent exclusion from the list.
