Guest guest
Hi I have neuropathy pain in both my upper legs that was caused by the tourniquets used when I had bilateral knee replacements in 2001. I have had Fibromyalgia since I was about 11 years old. I am 49 now. I take Neurontin, Lamictal, Tegretol, Seroquel, Hydrocodone,Vistaril and Ibuprofen. How can I help you? Guest guest
Does anyone have any successful experience of treating this condition. My patient had chemotherapy last year but switched medication part way through because it gave her peripheral pain and numbness. Eventually even the second treatment caused it too but the treatment was finished and she has been given the all clear except that she now has Peripheral Neuropathy from the treatment. She has some arthritis in her feet but the pain from the neuropathy starts in her feet and spreads upwards. I gave the patient restorative nervines such as Avena and Hypericum and relaxing nervines like Scutellaria and Matricaria and Vib op' to reduce spasm but the patient reported that it did not help her and, on the weekend before she came for her follow up, that she had pain spreading up until her whole body was engulfed with pain, the worst pain she had ever had with the neuropathy and was concerned the herbs caused it. I have advised the patient that neuropathies need time and given dietary advice also, but I am a bit floored by the patients possible reaction to the herbs I gave. Any similar experiences out there or successful herbal plans for neuropathies that others have found successful? Seán
