Guest guest
Hi, Let me introduce myself before I forget... My name is Pilar, I'm a teacher and I live in Spain. I lived in England for three years, that's where I found out about Weight Watchers. I was a member for a while and when I came home I brought books, computer program and points calculator with me, but I must confess I didn't follow the diet as I should have done... too many things to do... no time to plan meals... so I ended up eating the same boring things over and over again and got tired and bored. With my hormone problems, losing weight it's just not easy. (And I couldn't go to a WW meeting here because there weren't any till this year. This is my third week as a member of the Spanish WW. I'm really enjoying it. We are a small group and we get on really well. Chatting with people who understand what to struggle with your weight means is helping me a lot. And I'm helping my leader as I have more information than she has! That's helping me to stay focused) I feel better now, my hormone levels are better so losing weight isn't so difficult, I plan meals and say " no " to mum when she offers to cook something for me (it's just too fattening. She's a great cook, but she hasn't mastered the art of cooking low-calorie versions of her recipes). I have too many things to do and too little time to do them. I need to organise myself as soon as possible. Things have been really hectic, but I have managed to lose 7.5 kilos (about 16.5 pounds) and I'm very pleased about it. My hormones are better now and my doctor says I should take advantage of it and lose as much weight as possible (in a healthy way) now that it's easier (or should I say, not as difficult as before). There's a great program on Spanish TV (you can watch it if you get the Spanish international channel - and understand Spanish) it's called " Saber Vivir " (it would translate roughly to " knowing how to live " ). It talks about nutrition, diets, health, all kinds of health problems, healthy recipes... and the people who appear on that program are doctors. It's on Monday to Friday. It tells you about the calorie intake, what's best for breakfast, how much calcium everybody needs, etc. I always watch it and then plan my meals according to it and according to Weight Watchers. I feel more energetic and I'm losing weight. I've still got lots to lose, but this time I know I'm going to get down to a healthy weight and stay there. I know all the theory, I just need to do the practise. I have lots of recipes cut from magazines, I'm going to format and organise them with Mastercook, that will help my diet (excuse me, can I call it " eating program " or something like that? " Diet " doesn't sound nice enough. I also have lots of books with nutritional information, but without points, and I would like to have them, so I'm going to calculate them. I am formatting (Mastercook) and organising my recipes, menus, tips... and that's helping me to lose weight. What's the use of having thousands and thousands of recipes, lots of books and magazines... if you don't plan ahead? I'm eating better now and not going hungry. I am formatting recipes I have found in magazines and recycling those magazines, I need to get rid of some clutter. I need space to grow and I am going to get rid of what I don't need: the extra weight, the clutter and other things that are making my life more difficult than it should be. Healthy Living isn't that difficult if you get organised and have some help, it's becoming easier every day. I better shut up for now, I bet you didn't think I would go on and on forever. Anyway, I'm here if any of you needs me... and I hope there's somebody there for me when I need help, and I know I will...
