Thank you to those of you who responded to my query - I decided to omit the

Hypericum in the short term and explained to my patient why I had done this. She

is a little anxious that her mood, which had improved so much, might suddenly

" crash " without the Hypericum, but I explained that I thought that an extreme

mood change would be unlikely. We talked about the other elements in her herbal

Rx being part of the " whole " effect - just dispelling the general idea that St

s Wort is the herbal anti - depressant, so that's the only element in her

treatment that will be supporting her emotional health. We talked about diet,

blood sugar, EFA's, exercise, meditation as all being important. She has an appt

with her oncologist on Monday and is going to discuss this with him further -

she's articulate and not afraid to argue her corner, so she'll not be easily put

off by the " no st s Wort under any circumstances " stance. I've even

suggested monitoring plasma hormone and drug levels might be a possibility, but

I'm not sure of the viability of this, or whether it would provide the necessary

evidence that using Hypericum is ok. I've also ordered some Rhodiola.

I had also found the info on the Rxlist page - which has actually confused the

issue for me further, not sure what would happen if using the Arimidex and the

Hypericum!

Re the Trifolium issue - I must re-read my notes on that bit Sally - I hadn't

realised that Chanchal was talking about concentrated extracts. There was so

much to take in over those 3 days, wasn't there!! I keep going back and back to

my notes! I really don't know how Chanchal keeps it all in her head, I certainly

can't!

Thanks for all your suggestions though - and I'll keep you updated.

Best wishes
