We have a goat

healthier:

Canadian grower

makes a system for his cows, we are going to build his bins and put in a hoop

house with a rocket stove to help heat so we can sprout year round:

Goat feeding

regimen – http://landofhavilahfarm.com/loh-feed-regimen.htm

we’ve modified a bit to suit our availability of products for mixing, but

basically we are using mix #3 but getting barley from NW Concentrates sent up

to Cenex at $19/50lb bag and the oats from Azure Standard (I’d get both

from Azure but they are out of barley until later in the season). I get BOSS

from Cenex, and I’ve not found peas yet that are cost effective. I mix up

her herbal mineral mix and give that as well. I feed kelp free choice as well

as baking soda free choice and take the girls on forest walks a few times a

week to let them browse. All herbs I ordered thru Mountain Rose to mix up her

herbal mineral mix.

Since adapting this

feeding system last year I’ve noticed a big difference in the look of the

girls and how they kidded and how easy it has been for them to recover from

birthing. I’m getting comments from everyone on the quality of the milk

in taste as well as for cheese making. I am very pleased!!

Here is another

system for poultry, I like the way he uses buckets:

And here is

something else on sprouting, he’s got an idea about ½ way thru the

video on a ferris wheel for sprouting:
