We are looking for a full time Physical Therapist or Veterinarian, certified in canine rehabilitation, to expand our rehabilitation department. Our department has a dedicated rehabilitation space fully equipped with an underwater treadmill, a therapeutic swimming pool, exercise equipment, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and lasers. We offer a variety of rehabilitation services including individualized assessments, client education, assistive devices, therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy. We have a skilled team of Board Certified Veterinary Surgeons who are on board with the value of physical therapy for their patients. Skills and Qualifications · Certification (CCRT or CCRP) required · 1+ year(s) experience is a plus · A basic understanding of dog behavior and veterinary medical terminology · Excellent client relations and interpersonal skills · Strong observation and organizational skills · Ability to lift up to 40-50+ pounds · Self-starter and team player · Strong desire for learning Job Responsibilities · Evaluation, goal setting, and treatment of patients, progression of treatment and planning for discharge · Education and communication with clients / caregivers · Verbal and written timely communication with veterinarians and other caregivers of rehabilitation patients · Daily charting, charges, communication documentation to referring veterinarians · Education and supervision of interns, externs, and staff members who are involved with rehab patients and clients · Continuing education and advancing skills – clinical, written and verbal · Public relations and education (whether that be to staff, veterinarians, clients, potential clients or the general public) about the profession of animal rehabilitation and what PT can offer as a profession · Contribute to the day-to-day maintenance of rehabilitation equipment and space, etc. · Giving input to improve the efficiency, quality of care, of the rehabilitation department in keeping with the VCA AEVH vision and mission statement · Participation in marketing efforts VCA offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including: medical/dental/vision and paid vacation (for full-time employee), 401k, CE opportunities, a generous pet care discount and more!
