I am very happy to see that trigger points are being discussed more frequently in veterinary medicine, especially in rehabilitation. I am attaching a recent publication for your review on the "Etiology of MTPs" (in people) written by Carol Bron and Jan Dommerholt. Jan is one of the teachers of the canine trigger point course. This is a really good article that will stimulate thought about how MTPs may form in your patients. I hope you enjoy.Of interest, Mark Hocking an Australian practicing veterinarian is referenced in this article. Mark has hypothesized that the etiology of MTPs is due to a sustained partial depolarization of the alpha motor neuron. I have had the opportunity to communicate with Mark and exchange observations and opinions.Rick Wall, DVM
