Guest guest
Does anyone know of a veterinary prosthetist in southern Cali, or is OrthoPets in CO the only one? Any human prostetists with experience with animals in souther Cali? Guest guest
I am co-teaching a pain class with Dr. Mich and watching her lecture on orthoses even as I write this email. She so absolutely knows what she is doing, I would not consider anyone else, even if it were more convenient. Guest guest
I spoke with Kel on a panel in Vegas at our professional prosthetics meeting last September about animal prosthetics. He is a Certified Prosthetist. We actually had 8 people on the panel talking about animal prosthetics. We are growing! Other full time certified prosthetists working in the animal field: Jim Aliamo, CPO, www.MyPetsBrace.com Derrick Campana, CO, www.AnimalOrthoCare.com Jeff , CPO, www.k-9orthotics.com I personally am certified in prosthetics and orthotics, but choose not to do prosthetics from a distance because the fit has to be so intimate so the skin does not break down. It really takes a one on one touch. (Braces have more room for fitting, I focus my business on bracing solutions) If a prosthetist is truly " excellent " they will tell you it is best to have a prosthetist fit a prosthesis in person. I would urge you to find someone local. If you are in Vegas, I have a prosthetist friend that may be interested in helping. I will contact him before throwing him on the fire Hope this helps!
