Guest guest
I am looking into starting my own rehab practice within a referral/emergency hospital. The hospital has a boarded surgeon, an oncologist, and internal medicine specialists, but no neurologist presently. I was debating on whether the purchase of an UWTM is necessary to have or not. My competition in the area all have them, but I think you can do great rehab without one and the cost of the machines make them difficult to justify. I think the perception out there in the non- rehab certified vet world is that you NEED a treadmill to do rehab and if I don't have one, that they may not refer to me. I would, however, love to help the older, overweight arthritic dogs and get them active in the UWTM as well neuro cases from RDVMs. Just wanted to get some thoughts from those of you in similar practice situations. Do these machines pay for themselves and how long does that take generally? Thanks!
